 Certified Manager Program (CMP)

The Certified Manager Program (CM) is a professional training program sponsored by the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) and is administered by the Institute of Management Consultants and Trainers (IMC-Jordan) as the Jordanian and regional partner for the ICPM. The CM program develops and enhances general management skills and prepares individuals to take the CM management certification exams. Those who successfully complete the CM exams achieve the CM certification, a prestigious credential that recognizes competency and professionalism of managers worldwide in all fields.

Certification Process

Earning management certification through IMC is a 3-step process:

1. Get Trained

Training for the CM exams is accomplished through individual, self-directed study, group, classroom study, or online study. Classroom training is delivered by IMC-Jordan. The program is composed of three modules and each module features a study manual, an online learning center and an assessment exam.

2. Get Certified

Application
Entry into the program begins with an approved application. Applications may be downloaded (
A LINK TO THE APPLICATION WILL BE HERE), printed and submitted by mail to info@imc.com.jo or sent to fax number +962 6 5530858.
Applicants to the CM Program have fifteen months from the date of application approval to complete the three CM exams. Applicants that do not complete the program before their deadline can reactivate their status for an additional fifteen months by paying a reactivation fee.

Assessment
The three CM exams coincide with content covered in the three CM study manuals. All three exams must be passed in order to earn the CM certification. ICPM offers the ultimate flexibility in test scheduling by offering the CM exams “on demand”. Therefore, exams are scheduled by contacting IMC-Jordan seven working days in advance of the desired testing date.

3. Get Recognized

After successfully passing the CM exams, your achievement will be recognized by executive and senior management, colleagues, clients, vendors, and others in the business community.

Responsibilities of a CM

  • Maintaining high standards of management performance.
  • Exhibiting professionalism in all business interactions.
  • Upholding the ethical standards embodied in the ICPM Code of Ethics.
  • Fulfilling annual recertification requirements.

Recertification
Annual recertification keeps the CM certification active. CMs must recertify each January by paying a professional fee and submitting a plan of 10 hours of continuing education to ICPM. In return, CMs receive the following benefits:

  • Subscription to Management World (online journal).
  • Subscription to The Certified Letter (online newsletter).
  • Listing in the CM Electronic Directory (by request).
  • Access to JobNet (electronic job board).
  • Access to a network of thousands of CMs worldwide.

ICPM Code of Ethics

  • I will recognize that management is a call to service with responsibilities to my direct reports, associates, supervisors, employer, community, nation and world.
  • I will maintain honest relations with customers, suppliers, management and employees.
  • I will recognize that, as a leader, my own pattern of work and life will exert more influence than what I say or write.
  • I will give the same consideration to the rights and interests of others that I ask for myself.
  • I will consider and look for value in the ideas and opinions of others.
  • I will regard my role as a manager as an obligation to help others achieve personal and professional fulfillment.
  • I will set reasonable performance goals for myself and for my direct reports, and balance the interests of management and employees during challenging times.
  • I will promote and practice the management principles and methods I have learned in achieving management certification.
  • I will report and encourage others to report unethical business practices to the appropriate authority.
  • I will discourage and confront any inappropriate behavior observed or reported to me.
